About Me
Welcome to my About Me page, I hope you enjoy my website!
ForeverWoodwinds was a name I'd
made up in 2005 for an idea I'd had
fixing and reselling instruments with a friend.
Shortly after making the ebay name and a temporary website,
my idea had slightly changed (for the better, of course)
and I was left alone with my future plans for ForeverWoodwinds
with uncertainty of where it would take me.
During my high school years I
discovered that I had
a fascination with older musical instruments and the history behind them.
I believe that'd started from my fascination with metal clarinets
and then it got worse from there up until now! (just kidding!)
I first started
taking flutes apart when I was 14 and had it
figured out, by theory, which keys go where, how to take the keys off,
and what not to do (ex. do NOT use Tarn-X for polishing!).
After graduating high school,
I proceeded to take a year off of school to work.
During this time, I started doing searches on ebay a little more
and eventually purchased a few flutes here and there.
I moved to Red Wing, MN in 2004 to pursue
the Band Instrument Repair field and because it was recommended to
play all instruments possible, I decided to teach myself to play the oboe.
With the help of ebay seller, tucson_bob,
and his ingenious rental program,
I'd rented a Selmer Bundy oboe for a month until I found a decent
Selmer Signet oboe (w/ low Bb) that suited me quite well.
Bob even offered to repad the oboe for me at a low cost to help me out
along my musical path and did such a fantastic job that it never needed
any significant adjustments nor replacements during the time I had it!
After shortly
attending the technical school in Minnesota,
I actually realized that my interests with flutes were significantly different
than other people that were at the school for the same overall program.
Shortly before I stopped attending the school, I'd decided to completely
restored an ebony
and nickel-silver 8-key flute in the key of C. This flute was to be my very
first major
crack-repair project as well as first experience with a flute of such age
and of simple-system key setup.
From this time and
up until now, I have been buying, collecting (here and there),
and reselling flutes for decent prices throughout eBay and have met many great
people along the way.
I've met most of my closest friends through eBay while either searching for or
selling flutes
& I believe that ebay is a great place to meet people with similar
interests.
Since moving back
to Florida, I've been primarily buying and reselling flutes as my main source of income.
I am fairly reasonable overall and patient with most everyone.
If you have questions about flutes, either buying or selling or just out of pure
boredom,
you're more than welcome to contact me and I'll be glad to help you in any and
every way possible.
At the current
moment (October 2008) I am an active 'expert'
on the allexperts.com website
where I have the opportunity to share my knowledge or expand my knowledge
(thanks to the Langwill Index!) of musical instruments and help others along the
way!
Thank you for checking my
About Me page and have a great day! -Suzie (fw)
